Childrens rights are natural freedoms of children. Children's rights help children not to be engaged in harmful situations.The main importance of chidren's rights is TO PREVENT CHILD ABUSE. CHILD ABUSE is the violation of children's rights. Examples of child abuse  are; rape defilement forced early marriage e.t.c. If you know your rights, you can easily prevent child abuse.This is Faith,Clarissa and Ronitah introducing CHILDRENS RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS

Right to Education

Every child has a right to education. This is so that a child becomes successful in future. Let it be informal or formal, all education is needed by all children. Schools should be safe places for children to learn freely. speaking of safe places, that takes us to the next right of children which is SAFETY. 

Safety

Every child, has a right to be protected from harm. No child should be treated like animal or hurt in any way. Whether on road, school or at home, children should be protected from harm. It is important for parents to keep their children safe. When children are safe, they are free from diseases which takes us to the next right HEALTH.
 

Right to be Healthy

Of course, every child should have a right to be healthy and free from diseases. When children fall sick, some parents tend to think about themselves and buy their clothes and other things before treating their children. This is not good at all!
Children should also have good food, clean water, clean environment and healthcare. When a child is healthy, he or she has energy to play taking us to the right to play.

Right to Play


Playing is one of the important aspects of children’s rights. Every child has a right to play. Indoors or outdoors, a child should get time to play and relax their minds and refresh their brains. In playing, children feel free and make friends.
In making friends, a child learns to speak their mind out, which takes us to our next right which is SELF EXPRESSION.

Freedom of Self Expression

A child should get a chance to speak his or her mind. A child should be heard, whether right or wrong. A child should be heard in every situation. Superiors must listen and take children’s thoughts seriously.  

SUMMARY

How to promote child safety

• Avoid walking alone especially at night
• Avoid gifts from strangers
• Avoid lifts from strangers
• Avoid responding to calls from strangers except in open safe places. 

Call to action

As responsible people, we should protect children’s rights. Let’s make the world a nicer, better and safer place. 

CONCLUSION

In a nutshell, children's rights should be protected in order to reduce the number of street children . If you can, you can adopt a child or two.
